PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This vintage-style jade pendant is the traditional "Ping An Kou" (平安扣), which is a Chinese cultural symbol of safety and protection. Featuring a 13x3mm donut-shaped, pastel green jadeite jade paired with a 14K/18K minimalistic buckle and necklace chain, this pendant is perfect for adding a unique, traditional touch to any outfit.

The round shape with a central hole symbolises harmony, completeness, and the cyclical nature of life. This shape is reminiscent of ancient jade "bi" (璧) discs, which were used in rituals and as symbols of heaven. Often, travellers would carry or wear a "Ping An Kou" to ensure that they have a safe trip, free from accidents or misfortune; or wear it daily as a protective charm.

Natural jadeite is mildly translucent and able to reflect light to produce a natural glow under the sun.
